Every October your Monrovia City
Planners get very excited about celebrating National Community Planning Month. We love the idea of dedicating
the entire month towards highlighting the important role of planning in our
Monrovia community.
Now before you can even think “what
is planning?”...(yes, we can read minds) we must tell you that the type of
“planning” that we do has nothing to do with party planning, wedding planning,
or even financial planning. We do love parties, don’t get us wrong… but our
unified focus is on making Monrovia a great community.
Planning can be summed up as
comprehensive, community-focused choices that enhance the spaces where people
live, work, and play. While many people may not realize it, planning has a
significant impact on their day-to-day lives. From where they live, to how they
commute, to the type of home they live in, planning plays a vital role in a
person’s life and well-being.
This October your Planning Division
will be celebrating the lasting value that inclusive planning brings the City
of Monrovia, and we want you to celebrate with us!
Over the next several weeks we will
provide you the opportunity to get to know your City planners and learn about Monrovia’s
planning initiatives underway. We will also provide you the opportunity to get
involved in Monrovia’s planning activities.
